Private distribution — why the app is built for business
The mobile app — iOS and Android — doesn't ship like a consumer app. You won't find it on the public App Store. It's delivered as a Custom App through Apple Business Manager, straight to a business and its people.
How it reaches your team
A Custom App is distributed privately to named organisations only — Apple still reviews and signs it, so it carries store-grade trust, just pointed at your business instead of the world. To receive it, a business enrols in Apple Business Manager under a verified organisation (a D-U-N-S number — its org ID) and pushes it to devices with an MDM. Android is planned for the same private, business-only route, but it comes later — it isn't part of the July 5th target.
| Path | What it needs | Fits |
|---|---|---|
| Custom App via Apple Business Manager | A verified organisation (D-U-N-S / org ID) and an MDM | A business rolling out to its whole team |
| By hand, phone by phone | Special settings on every device | Nobody, at scale — too slow |
Because the front door is Apple Business Manager, the app is — for now — built for business to business.
